Download the set as a ZIP and a manifest comes with it: what was requested, what was produced, and every compromise worth knowing. An enlargement, a quality the search had to drop to, a cap that could not be met. No mystery settings for the next person.

Straight answers
No. Fit reads, crops and encodes the image in your browser using a canvas, and the download comes from memory on your own device. There is no upload, no server that sees the picture, no database and no account. The filename, the pixels and any EXIF stay with you: the visit count carries a format and a rough size band, never anything from the image itself.
Set the width, the height and a maximum in KB, and Fit encodes at your starting quality, measures the real file, and keeps stepping the quality down until the file fits. The number on the ticket is the finished file's own size, not an estimate. If it cannot get under the limit it says so rather than handing you a file that misses.
PNG is lossless: there is no quality setting to trade away, so the size is whatever the pixels come to. Fit says which constraint it cannot meet and names the three things that would fix it: JPEG or WebP instead, a larger limit, or fewer pixels.
Fit will still produce the file, and it labels the enlargement with its ratio. A 600px source in a 1200px brief is a 2x enlargement, which is four times the area being invented. It will not call the result high quality.
That is the point of it. One focal point, several outputs: you put the subject on the centre mark once and every brief crops around it, so a square and a wide banner keep the same subject rather than the same centre of the photograph.
JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 50 MB and 80 megapixels. HEIC from an iPhone is refused with an explanation, because browsers cannot decode it: on an iPhone, sharing the photo or saving it as Most Compatible gives you a JPG.
